Credit Decisioning Specialist, Latam – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belize.

📋 Description

• Evaluate portfolio performance and pinpoint opportunities to enhance profitability through credit strategies.

• Model repayment probabilities, defaults, and fraud using incomplete and alternative data, while establishing the statistical inferences that support these models.

• Convert analysis into actionable credit rules, including approval strategies, underwriting requirements, initial loan sizing, and customer segmentation.

• Streamline underwriting requirements to minimize unnecessary customer friction.

• Design and evaluate experiments aimed at improving lending outcomes.

• Assess the trade-offs between growth, risk, customer experience, and profitability.

• Transform analysis into practical recommendations for underwriting and portfolio management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: portfolio strategy or analytics, underwriting strategy, lending strategy, risk management, or another analytical role that involves high-stakes decision-making under uncertainty.

• Utilized data and probabilistic reasoning to drive or influence significant business decisions.

• Assessed trade-offs between competing objectives when faced with uncertainty.

• Exercised analytical judgment instead of relying solely on predefined rules or models.

• Converted analysis into actionable business decisions and recommendations.

• Held accountability for the business outcomes stemming from those decisions, not merely the quality of the analysis performed.

• Proficient in hands-on work involving statistical inference and probability; causal reasoning and selection bias; practical modeling techniques such as logistic regression, scorecards, and gradient boosting — with a focus on clean validation discipline and preventing data leakage; experiment design and power; expected-value analysis; and segmentation.

• Proficient in Python and SQL at the analysis and modeling level.
