Credit Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer tailored assistance and actionable solutions to aid clients in managing their debt.

• Respond to incoming calls from individuals seeking financial education or credit counseling assistance.

• Conduct personalized credit counseling sessions with clients over the phone.

• Provide financial education, develop client budgets, and support the enrollment process into ACCC programs.

• Accurately input client information and budget details into internal systems when processing consumer applications.

• Follow up with potential clients to motivate them to initiate or continue the counseling process.

• Enroll eligible clients into suitable debt consolidation or financial assistance programs.

• Inform clients about credit reports, credit scores, and methods for maintaining sound financial habits.

• Propose customized debt management plans and repayment strategies.

• Record client interactions and uphold accurate, confidential records.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• 1–2 years of experience in credit counseling, financial coaching, or debt management.

• NFCC Credit Counselor Certification (to be obtained within the first six months of employment).

• Experience in analyzing client budgets, income, and debt to formulate actionable repayment plans.

• Proven experience in providing one-on-one counseling or coaching to clients in a confidential environment (phone and/or online).

• Daily proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Availability to work Monday through Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM ET and Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET.

• Capability for prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8+ hours/day).

• Ability to engage in extended phone conversations.

• Frequent use of hands/fingers for typing and operating a keyboard, mouse, and phone.

• Ability to wear a headset for long durations.

• Sufficient vision to read computer screens and documents.

• Adequate hearing to comprehend customer conversations via phone.

• Occasional walking or standing may be required depending on office layout or home setup.
