Course Writer, Physical Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop educational content and materials such as lectures, presentations, assignments, learning activities, assessments, and other specified elements.

• Collaborate closely with the program director to ensure that all course materials uphold the program's standards for quality and rigor.

• Partner with instructional design staff to guarantee that all course materials adhere to best practices and are compatible with the UWS learning management system (LMS).

• Work alongside the program director to ensure that all course materials and assessments are in alignment with student learning outcomes, program learning outcomes, and accreditation standards associated with the course.

• Identify external resources for assigned readings/viewings, supporting materials, and optional exploration opportunities.

• Provide contributions for use in the program’s culminating assessments.

• Ensure the successful delivery of courses.

• Supply essential course documents (e.g., syllabus, discussion forum guidelines, assessments, etc.) by specified deadlines.

• Participate in trainings, faculty meetings, and other professional development activities as required.

• Stay current with research and clinical practice advancements relevant to the course content.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree from a US-accredited physical therapy program.

• A valid Physical Therapist Oregon OT License effective by the start date (if teaching the course).

• Official transcripts from previous institutions of higher education to be submitted within 30 days of hiring.

• Prior teaching experience in either a clinical or academic environment.

• Documentation of physical therapy experience in the course-related content area.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in general computing tasks (word processing, presentation software, email, internet research, database navigation, etc.).

• Experience with one or more of the following systems: Canvas, Panopto, Zoom.

• Professional interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.

• Ability to effectively manage faculty and students in professional degree programs.

• Comfort with presenting in both recorded and live formats.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute plans and resource management to meet desired teaching outcomes.

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to exercise professional judgment and take responsibility in clinical decision-making.

• Capacity to quickly adapt to changing environments and learn new systems and processes.

• Willingness and ability to adhere to directions from the director, dean, and administrators in accordance with university policies.

• Working knowledge of FERPA regulations regarding student privacy.
