This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess, prepare, and finalize both incoming and outgoing production and creative contracts, which include SAG-AFTRA agreements, talent and performer deals, crew engagements, production services arrangements, and content licensing agreements.
• Review, prepare, and finalize music rights for advertising initiatives, covering synchronization licenses, master use authorizations, publishing agreements, and custom composition deals with music production companies and independent composers.
• Develop and implement contracts with advertising agencies, production houses, directors, photographers, and post-production providers for commercial campaigns, including creative agency master service agreements, production house contracts, and influencer and brand partnership arrangements.
• Act as an embedded business affairs and legal advisor for Creative and Production teams — providing guidance on transaction architecture, SAG-AFTRA signatory requirements, broadcast clearance standards, and considerations related to AI, including the use of generative AI, ownership of AI-generated content, and vendor AI provisions.
• Oversee rights acquisition and clearance processes for commercial productions, addressing talent likeness and image permissions as well as third-party intellectual property clearances.
• Develop and sustain scalable production workflows, deal memo templates, and contract management processes for Hims & Hers' commercial and marketing production operations, ensuring compliance with SAG-AFTRA signatory obligations and AI vendor terms.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law institution.
• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house, with at least 4+ years focused on commercial advertising production, performer contracting, or media/entertainment business affairs.
• Proven experience in preparing and executing commercial advertising contracts, including SAG-AFTRA commercials agreements, on-camera and voice-over performer contracts, music rights agreements, deal memos, production house agreements, and performer usage and exclusivity contracts.
• Familiarity with SAG-AFTRA guild regulations, signatory responsibilities, and low-budget/new media contract frameworks.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating IP licensing and content clearance agreements.
• Knowledge of AI-related legal issues in creative or marketing environments, including generative AI usage policies, ownership of AI-generated content, and drafting AI-related terms in vendor and platform contracts.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven capacity to provide practical, commercially viable advice to a variety of stakeholders.
