This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Offer specialized legal advice on EU digital regulatory compliance to various stakeholders across the organization.
• Develop and execute internal policies, workflows, and risk assessments to maintain adherence to global AI, privacy, and other digital regulations.
• Transform intricate legal obligations and industry standards into practical technical and operational directives.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel and internal teams, including Go-to-market, GRC, Security, to synchronize compliance strategies with Product and Modelling roadmaps.
• Act as a reliable advisor to product counsel, product managers, engineers, and designers, delivering real-time legal advice on AI/ML solutions, particularly regarding safety, privacy, and copyright regulatory obligations.
• Negotiate and draft data processing agreements, AI regulatory clauses in customer and vendor contracts, and other regulatory documents to ensure compliance with EU standards.
• Engage with EU digital regulatory bodies and take part in regulatory discussions.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one EU member state, with a preference for admission in Germany.
• 4+ years of legal experience, ideally with a blend of law firm and in-house experience at an enterprise software organization.
• Proficient in data protection, AI, and digital platform regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, GDPR, DSA).
• Demonstrated success in managing regulatory risks and executing compliance initiatives.
• Thorough understanding of AI/ML technologies and platforms, product development cycles, and data governance.
• Proven ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships and convey legal principles into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic technology environment, adjusting to new priorities, and dealing with uncertainty.
