This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
β’ Draft, negotiate, and review a diverse array of global commercial agreements, including those that are highly complex and innovative.
β’ Work collaboratively and provide strategic legal guidance to various cross-functional teams, such as sales, product, finance, tax, customer operations, and risk management.
β’ Lead or engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing internal processes and boosting the efficiency and scalability of the Commercial Legal team.
β’ Train and assist in educating internal business partners.
β’ Manage and resolve legal challenges arising from existing domestic and international commercial relationships.
β’ Develop and refine templates for global revenue-generating commercial agreements.
β’ Foster collaborative and effective relationships with various teams both in the U.S. and internationally.
β’ Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution and current membership in good standing with the bar in at least one U.S. state.
β’ Over 5 years of experience in complex commercial drafting and negotiation (preferably involving revenue-generating contracts); prior experience in-house and at law firms is advantageous.
β’ Strong project management abilities, with a knack for organizing, prioritizing, and maintaining composure under pressure.
β’ Capability to prioritize and advance multiple concurrent transactions against tight deadlines while delivering high-quality work products.
β’ Excellent judgment and the ability to make timely, pragmatic, and business-oriented decisions in ambiguous situations with incomplete information.
β’ A robust work ethic, sense of ownership, accountability, and a proactive approach to taking on necessary tasks.
β’ Experience in drafting and negotiating data privacy clauses, including but not limited to, CCPA, GLBA, and GDPR contract terms.
β’ Clear and concise communication skills for effective collaboration and negotiation with both internal and external business and legal teams.
β’ Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and a passion for learning.
