This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conducting legal research and drafting legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.

• Providing assessments on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.

• Preparing and managing pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and representing in trial or dispositive hearings for all assigned matters, as applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, and/or personal injury is REQUIRED.

• A Juris Doctor degree is REQUIRED.

• Admission to the California Bar is REQUIRED.

• Must hold a valid license in good standing to practice law in California and fulfill ongoing licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) where applicable.

• Must be willing to travel as necessary, including but not limited to attending trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

• Must be capable of documenting files in a clear, concise, and professional manner to ensure understanding by customers, clients, co-workers, and other employees of the organization.

• Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and possess strong organizational, priority-setting, and multi-tasking skills.

• Must be able to learn and apply substantial amounts of technical and procedural information.

• Experience in civil litigation is required.

• Experience in insurance defense-related litigation is preferred.

• Must be able to communicate professionally in person, via telephone, and through written correspondence/email.
