Cost Estimator – Mechanical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Develop estimates, studies, analyses, and evaluations for all phases of project development.

• Deliver conceptual estimates, detailed quantity take-offs, reviews/reconciliations of change orders, and value engineering solutions.

• Examine documentation and create thorough cost estimates/models that align with client project and strategic objectives.

• Maintain high-quality deliverables by following QA/QC protocols.

• Communicate effectively and succinctly in accordance with project goals.

• Research, source, and cultivate vendor relationships to ensure precise cost information.

• Assist in business development by fostering, promoting, and sustaining client relationships, as well as preparing cost exhibits for proposals, meetings, and presentations.

• Provide support for federal government construction projects throughout their lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in cost estimating, ideally within a consulting context, covering areas such as conceptual estimating, quantity take-offs, change order reviews, value engineering, and cost analysis.

• Capability to interpret and analyze construction documents during all design phases.

• Experience in estimating for mechanical and plumbing trades.

• Familiarity with electrical estimating is an advantage.

• Proficient in On-Screen Takeoff (OST), MII/PACES, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.

• Must successfully obtain HSPD-12 Federal Contractor clearance.

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
