This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with project sponsors and stakeholder groups to comprehend the project scope.

• Employ a pre-existing parametric estimating tool to create parametric estimates that align with AACE estimate class requirements for substation and transmission projects based on the conceptual scope of work.

• Use existing estimating templates to produce assembly-level cost estimates for projects based on a detailed scope of work and engineering design at the 30-50% completion stage.

• Facilitate the identification of necessary changes to the parametric estimating tool to present data in a more user-friendly format for subsequent project scheduling and cost management.

• Utilize comparisons between estimated and actual costs from projects to refresh and update cost data within the parametric estimating tool.

• Revise existing cost data in the parametric estimating tool to aid in structuring the enterprise estimating system and collaborate with developers for its implementation.

• Enhance the coordination of estimates to prevent duplication, improve ownership, and eliminate overlaps in estimate scope.

• Provide training for estimators on the revised tools, particularly for contracted estimators, and assist in the development of standard work instructions to standardize project scoping and estimating processes.

• Demonstrate proficiency in using estimating software to generate cost estimates and navigate the QAQC process.

• Maintain flexibility to participate in client and company meetings as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in cost estimating, particularly in developing estimate packages for design and construction.

• Experience in estimating construction projects for energy utilities and/or above/below grade civil estimating.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.

• Knowledgeable in AACE Cost Engineering Practices and TCM framework.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.

• Familiarity with Enterprise Estimating Systems such as Sage is advantageous.

• Understanding of process improvement methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma is a plus.
