This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Assist in the planning and execution of safety policies and procedures aligned with Kenco Safety Philosophy and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with operations and various departments to foster support for safety initiatives and establish clear expectations and timelines for designated facilities.
• Work in partnership with diverse groups and divisions to enhance safety initiatives.
• Create and implement tools to showcase safety performance and pinpoint deficiencies.
• Promote accountability across all management levels.
• Lead and nurture safety and security advocates to enhance safety standards.
• Deliver comprehensive safety support for designated facilities.
• Conduct audits and reviews of assigned facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA and internal standards.
• Facilitate the execution of corporate initiatives, strategic objectives, and policies.
• Engage with OSHA and DOT regulators during audits and inspections, providing support for follow-ups and resolutions.
• Assist in investigations of accidents, environmental incidents, and near-misses, ensuring thorough root-cause analysis and corrective measures.
• Oversee safety data required by state and federal authorities.
• Coordinate safety training requirements and processes with corporate teams.
• Develop systems to promote the sharing of safety best practices within assigned sites.
• Collaborate with Corporate Risk Management to prepare relevant EH&S reports, including Tier II and Biennial Reports.
• Travel approximately 25%–50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years in warehousing/distribution settings preferred.
• CSP, CSHM, or other relevant certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
• Certification as a Power Industrial Truck Trainer (stand up, reach, and sit down) is required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership abilities, adaptability to change, and a capacity to drive change.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory requirements.
• Competence in problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, valid conclusion drawing, and identifying potential solutions.
• Capability to lead, motivate, coach, and identify development opportunities for others.
• Proficiency in managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work effectively under stress and pressure.
• Skill in managing various projects while meeting specific goals and deadlines.
• Capacity to make timely and sound decisions without compromising safety.
• Understanding and application of Lean or Six Sigma principles within a functional group or packaging site.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to identify and recommend ergonomic improvements in the workplace.
