This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance revenue growth from a diverse portfolio of existing and potential corporate partners as well as intricate institutional accounts generating annual revenue exceeding $500k for RMI.

• Facilitate all dimensions of partner interactions, which encompass coordinating discussions, preparing outreach materials, submitting proposals and reports, and addressing inquiries.

• Establish connections with corporate partners through meetings involving RMI staff, proactive outreach and scheduling, preparation of strategic meeting briefings, development of meeting content, and follow-up communications post-meeting.

• Provide consistent updates to the Development and Corporate Engagement leadership regarding partner discussions, pipelines, opportunities, and the status of relationships.

• Ensure that corporate partners are recognized and showcased in RMI reports, stewardship materials, events, and other relevant communications.

• Assist in formulating corporate engagement strategies and cases for support.

• Comprehend corporate partners’ sustainability goals, climate commitments, business context, philanthropic interests, and partnership ambitions to effectively represent RMI’s initiatives.

• Identify, qualify, solicit, and nurture new corporate prospects capable of making significant contributions, sponsorships, grants, or other strategic commitments.

• Deliver a high-quality experience for corporate partners and prospects through education and engagement regarding RMI’s program offerings.

• Travel to meet corporate partners and prospects in their locations, including attendance at U.S. and global conferences, convenings, and partner meetings.

• Support and lead the creation of persuasive corporate proposals, partnership concepts, letters of inquiry, pitch materials, stewardship reports, and necessary budgets to align with partner timelines and expectations.

• Collaborate with program, accounting, finance, legal, and communications teams to ensure prompt submissions of proposals, grant applications, partnership documents, and reports.

• Oversee or assist in the development and timely distribution of regular stewardship reports to corporate partners, including narrative, impact, and financial reports as required.

• Address partner requests to amend proposals, budgets, partnership concepts, scopes of work, and reporting materials.

• Evaluate proposal budgets and partnership deliverables to confirm alignment with program budgets, partner expectations, and RMI’s internal standards.

• Collaborate closely with program teams to gain a thorough understanding of RMI’s work and its alignment with corporate partners’ priorities.

• Prepare briefings, strategic plans, talking points, and communication materials for partner meetings, leveraging insights from program teams and senior leadership.

• Act as a primary Development or Corporate Engagement contact for one to two RMI programs, supporting corporate engagement pipelines, partner strategies, and fundraising materials.

• Provide guidance and feedback on materials aimed at corporate audiences and ensure program representatives are equipped with the necessary information to engage with corporate partners.

• Regularly inform the Development and Corporate Engagement teams about major program advancements, partner intelligence, market trends, and strategic opportunities.

• Use Salesforce to track moves management, corporate engagement pipelines, relationship history, opportunity stages, revenue forecasts, and accurate relationship status.

• Utilize Monday.com or other project management tools to highlight upcoming reporting, proposal, stewardship, or partner engagement deadlines.

• Maintain precise and timely records of partner interactions, next steps, deliverables, commitments, and potential risks.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• 5-10+ years of experience in nonprofit development, corporate engagement, partnerships, business development, institutional fundraising, sustainability, climate, energy, or relationship management.

• 5+ years of experience managing corporate, foundation, institutional, or other intricate external relationships.

• Proven track record in successfully cultivating, soliciting, closing, and nurturing significant corporate, philanthropic, sponsorship, grant, or partnership commitments.

• Demonstrated success in securing at least five-figure contributions, grants, sponsorships, or partnership commitments; experience with six-figure and larger commitments is highly preferred.

• Experience overseeing proposal, grant, or partnership development processes involving multiple stakeholders across an organization.

• Proficient in writing successful grant applications, proposals, pitch materials, concept notes, or partnership narratives.

• Experience working effectively with top-level executives in a fast-paced environment.

• Background in the environment, climate, sustainability, science, or energy sectors is strongly desired.

• Familiarity with corporate sustainability, climate commitments, philanthropy, or strategic partnerships is highly preferred.

• International experience is desirable but not mandatory.
