Corporate Counsel – Reinsurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary legal advisor for assumed and ceded reinsurance issues

• Draft, review, assess, interpret, and negotiate treaty and retrocession agreements

• Provide guidance on contract language, allocation matters, and coverage intentions

• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, and executive management

• Perform legal research and keep abreast of changes in reinsurance law

• Create internal policies, playbooks, templates, and educational resources

• Foster strong partnerships with brokers, reinsurers, and industry organizations

• Utilize technology and process enhancements

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized law institution

• Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state

• Significant experience (5+ years) in legal practice related to reinsurance or insurance

• Familiarity with assumed and ceded reinsurance transactions

• In-depth understanding of legal principles governing insurance and reinsurance
