This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main legal advisor for DKeX and associated regulated exchange and clearing projects.
• Provide counsel to business stakeholders regarding legal and regulatory matters related to the Commodity Exchange Act and Commodity Futures Trading Commission regulations.
• Create, review, and maintain exchange rules, policies, governance documents, and other legal materials that support the functioning and advancement of regulated market infrastructure.
• Offer legal advice on regulatory submissions, rule filings, and various issues that facilitate the ongoing operation of DKeX and its related regulated exchange and clearing projects.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Market Operations, Compliance, Finance, Information Technology, and other cross-functional teams to assist in the development, launch, and management of regulated products and services.
• Keep track of legislative, regulatory, and industry changes impacting derivatives markets, providing internal stakeholders with insights on emerging legal risks, obligations, and potential opportunities.
• Oversee outside counsel and coordinate legal assistance across specialized regulatory matters when necessary.
• Create practical legal guidance, scalable processes, and internal resources that enable business teams to make informed decisions while ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution with outstanding academic credentials.
• A minimum of five years of legal experience, ideally encompassing a blend of law firm, in-house, or government/regulatory backgrounds.
• Experience in advising clients on financial services regulations, derivatives markets, exchange regulation, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and deliver practical, business-focused legal advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey intricate legal concepts to both technical and non-legal audiences.
• Curiosity, sound judgment, and a thoughtful approach to addressing unique legal and regulatory challenges.
• A collaborative spirit, strong sense of ownership, and the capacity to excel in a dynamic environment that supports innovative products.
• Preferred experience advising a Designated Contract Market, Derivatives Clearing Organization, futures commission merchant, broker-dealer, exchange, or financial regulatory agency.
