This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Advise internal clients on various employment issues nationwide, encompassing wage and hour concerns, reasonable accommodations, internal investigations, benefits, and employee classification;

• Draft, review, and provide insights on employment and HR-related policies and procedures;

• Offer counsel and guidance for the effective defense against lawsuits, claims, and charges brought against the Company; conduct informed cost-benefit analyses to identify risks; and select and recommend alternative dispute resolution methods when appropriate.

• Monitor new developments and emerging trends in employment and wage and hour laws, evaluate related legal risks, and advise different business departments accordingly.

• Deliver prompt, business-focused advice to all departments, including compliance, human resources, marketing, and IT, to achieve business objectives, mitigate risks, and ensure legal compliance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be admitted to the State Bar of California and be in good standing.

• Must possess a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in employment and wage and hour matters.

• Strong research capabilities and project management/implementation skills.

• Experience in the healthcare, staffing, or services industries is a plus.

• Preferred prior experience at a mid to large-sized law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both.

• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of urgency.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Excellent interpersonal relations.
