Corporate Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Corporate Legal Affairs division within the Legal Department by providing support to the General Counsel and offering legal guidance on a variety of corporate matters.

• Perform legal research and analysis, and deliver legal counsel and representation on issues related to the daily operations of non-profit, tax-exempt organizations.

• Evaluate, revise, and draft contracts.

• Guide supported organizations on federal, state, and local lobbying registration and reporting requirements, and provide assistance where needed.

• Review and advise the organization and its supported entities regarding publication and audiovisual content, including internet features, news releases, and audio-visual materials.

• Offer legal insights on domestic and international data privacy and protection laws, and assist in developing and maintaining compliance programs.

• Support employment law matters.

• Manage and enhance the organization’s trademark portfolio and licenses.

• Advise supported organizations on preparing, filing, and defending shareholder proposals.

• Oversee the organization’s service contracts with supported entities.

• Conduct legal research and provide counsel on various charity and animal protection issues, including relevant statutes and regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and at least eight years of legal experience in the areas specified in the Primary Responsibilities and Duties.

• Active member in good standing of a state bar association.

• Demonstrated exceptional legal research, writing, and verbal advocacy skills.

• Proven capability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
