This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a vital legal advisor to the organization across various areas, including corporate, commercial, technology, regulatory, compliance, employment, privacy, data security, and operational issues.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and oversee commercial contracts, such as software, SaaS, AI, vendor agreements, technology contracts, data-related agreements, confidentiality agreements, service contracts, licensing agreements, and other business-related documents.
• Ensure compliance with corporate securities filings with the SEC, including submissions like Form 4, Form S-8, and Form 8-K.
• Offer legal advice on corporate transactions and related agreements.
• Handle contract processes from initiation and drafting through negotiation, stakeholder alignment, risk assessment, and final execution.
• Create and enhance legal templates, contract playbooks, clause libraries, approval workflows, intake processes, and scalable legal operations methodologies.
• Provide assistance with regulatory and compliance-related contract matters covering employment, privacy, data security, consumer protection, corporate securities, and financial technology.
• Support dispute resolutions and liaise with external counsel when necessary.
• Undertake special legal projects as directed by senior leadership.
• Assist in strategic initiatives that affect the People, Product, and Business Development teams.
• Oversee and manage compliance requirements for corporate governance of non-U.S. subsidiaries for foreign entities.
• Juris Doctor degree from a recognized law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Eligibility to serve as in-house counsel in the District of Columbia if not already admitted there.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong business acumen and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to prioritize significant legal risks.
• Proficiency in articulating legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Competence in working effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
• Experience in managing multiple competing priorities.
• Familiarity with legal contract management software, such as Salesforce (preferred).
