Corporate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver legal assistance across retail brokerage, wholesale brokerage, underwriting, and claims functions.

• Oversee and manage litigation issues, including insurance defense and disputes related to claims.

• Supervise and collaborate with external counsel, ensuring effective case strategies, cost management, and alignment with business goals.

• Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of agreements related to commercial insurance and non-insurance matters, including insurance administrative services agreements, brokerage agreements, claims services agreements, employment contracts, and general corporate services agreements.

• Counsel internal business units on legal risks, regulatory compliance, and operational issues.

• Support dispute resolution processes, including arbitration, pre-litigation strategies, mediation, and settlement negotiations.

• Stay updated on changes in insurance law and regulations and inform leadership about potential impacts.

• Work collaboratively across compliance, risk, and executive teams on corporate projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of pertinent legal experience, ideally in insurance, brokerage, claims, or financial services.

• Strong litigation background, particularly in insurance defense and claims services.

• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating intricate commercial and insurance-related agreements.

• Demonstrated capability to manage external counsel and litigation strategies.

• Familiarity with insurance regulatory frameworks and industry standards.

• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.

• Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
