Control System Designer, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create cutting-edge automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical systems involved in complex data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.

• Collaborate with the mechanical design team to generate control sequences, diagrams, and points lists based on mechanical systems.

• Work alongside the electrical design team to formulate network architectures and points lists for electrical distribution and conditioning systems.

• Partner with the ICT design team to ensure structured Ethernet cabling interfaces to control panels and end devices are properly coordinated.

• Design robust operational technology networks for control systems.

• Establish a basis of design for BAS, PLC, PMS controllers, instrumentation, and software.

• Ensure adherence to relevant US codes and engineering standards/practices.

• Maintain a detail-oriented and technical perspective while also being experienced enough to understand the broader context.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree with over 6 years of pertinent experience or proven equivalency in experience and/or education.

• At least four years of professional experience as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer (I&C) or as a controls contractor responsible for creating controls submittals.

• Proficient in BAS & PLC control system platforms.

• Familiarity with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).

• Proven experience in colocation and hyperscale data center projects.

• Knowledge of US codes and standards.

• Background in data center or other mission-critical environments.

• Experience with Operational Technology Networks.

• Proficiency in SCADA platforms and specification of technical cybersecurity requirements.
