Contracts & Legal Ops Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Independently draft, negotiate, and finalize standard commercial agreements, including NDAs, order forms, routine renewals, and low-risk vendor and partner agreements, from initial draft to signature.

• Review and finalize AI-generated first-pass redlines and clause extraction on incoming contracts prior to sending them to counterparties.

• Oversee the contract automation and playbooks over time: update clause libraries, modify intake logic, and incorporate new agreement types as the business evolves.

• Manage vendor and procurement requests from start to finish: negotiate standard pricing and terms, monitor requests through Jira, and challenge terms that are not favorable for Sift.

• Handle the complete contract lifecycle: intake, repository management, renewals, approvals, and terminations.

• Provide coaching to Sales on standard terms and redlines so that routine deals can be finalized without legal intervention on every file.

• Work with Sales and Deal Desk to enhance the sales process and related deal cycles.

• Monitor and report on contract and vendor metrics.

• Assess incoming contracts and vendor requests, escalating any complex, high-risk, or non-standard terms to legal counsel.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as part of a small, dynamic legal and compliance team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a contracts, legal operations, or deal desk position, preferably within a B2B SaaS company. No law degree is necessary.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools on a daily basis to enhance drafting and review processes, rather than just on occasion.

• Possess sound judgment regarding what is considered standard versus what requires legal counsel input.

• Familiarity with Salesforce and Jira is essential.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the adaptability to manage volume and competing demands.

• Comfortable in a role that is still evolving, where processes and tools will continually change.
