Contract Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Prepares, evaluates, negotiates, and finalizes agreements with study sites following local and accepted processes.

• Engages in negotiations within authorized parameters for investigator grant budgets, contractual terms, and conditions, adhering to company and client considerations as well as established site processes, while following the appropriate escalation routes.

• Ensures adherence to established negotiation parameters, authority approvals, contractual processes, and client expectations.

• Maintains compliance with budgetary guidelines, templates, and processes.

• Identifies and evaluates legal, financial, and operational risks, escalating them to the appropriate levels within the organization per established protocols.

• Offers recommendations and alternative solutions during Investigator Contracts negotiations through established escalation channels.

• Collaborates with internal functional departments to ensure that various site startup activities align with contractual obligations and mutually agreed timelines; ensures that the contract negotiation process for sites and studies is properly aligned with the critical path for site activation.

• Achieves target cycle times for site activations.

• Ensures adherence to guidelines and processes for the efficient escalation of out-of-parameter issues as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.

• Prior experience that equips the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the role (approximately 2-5 years).

• Solid understanding of contract law principles, including knowledge of laws affecting contract language such as business, intellectual property, and local tax and stamp laws.

• Proven capability to apply basic principles of investigator grant negotiation.

• General knowledge of business and financial principles related to service agreements.

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) in English and the local language.

• Competent, with appropriate oversight, in drafting and negotiating contract provisions and budgetary matters within established parameters.

• Demonstrated attention to detail.

• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

• Familiarity with the pharmaceutical product development process and the role of CROs.

• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting.

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

• Working knowledge of PPD SOPs and WPDs.

• Able to logically organize competing priorities and assess outstanding contractual risks and issues.

• Proficient in utilizing automated systems and computer applications.

• Ability to communicate in a customer-focused manner, solve problems, and collaborate effectively.

• Regular interactions with diverse groups to obtain or convey information.

• Capable of performing a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by changing demands and conditions, with little predictability regarding occurrence; ability to perform under stress and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
