This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
β’ Develop and sustain high-quality backend services utilizing Node.js and TypeScript.
β’ Design and manage AWS-based serverless systems with a significant emphasis on scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
β’ Create and uphold event-driven architectures and asynchronous workflows.
β’ Design robust APIs while prioritizing performance, correctness, and maintainability.
β’ Take ownership of services in production, which includes monitoring, alerting, debugging, and incident response responsibilities.
β’ Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to guarantee safe and efficient deployments.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to comprehend business needs and convert them into technical solutions.
β’ Enhance system observability through effective logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
β’ Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to the long-term evolution of the system.
β’ Continuously refine engineering practices related to testing, reliability, and operational excellence.
β’ Extensive hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
β’ Proficiency with AWS cloud services, particularly serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda) and event-driven systems.
β’ Strong background in building and managing scalable backend APIs and services.
β’ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions).
β’ Solid engineering fundamentals, encompassing system design, testing, refactoring, observability, and production readiness.
β’ Experience in designing and working with distributed systems, including asynchronous workflows and event-driven architectures.
β’ Understanding of system reliability concepts such as retries, idempotency, failure handling, and consistency trade-offs.
β’ Proven ability to work in environments requiring ownership, problem identification, and independent solution driving.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the capability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and operational stakeholders.
β’ **Nice-to-have experience**
β’ Familiarity with MongoDB in scalable or distributed systems.
β’ Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Serverless Framework).
β’ Knowledge of evolving architectures from serverless-first designs to container-based solutions (e.g., ECS/Fargate).
β’ Understanding of incident management tools and practices (e.g., incident response platforms like incident.io).
β’ Experience with statically typed languages beyond TypeScript (e.g., C# or similar).
