Contract Data Platform Engineer – AWS, Data Pipelines

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, maintain, and primarily manage scalable streaming and batch data pipelines, with an emphasis on the upkeep, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancement of existing pipelines.

• Utilize AWS services, such as Redshift, EMR, and ECS, to facilitate data processing and analytics workloads.

• Create and sustain data workflows utilizing Python and SQL.

• Orchestrate and oversee pipelines using Apache Airflow.

• Develop and implement containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Decompose high-level system architectures into clearly defined, deliverable tasks with realistic timelines.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and distributed environment across the US and Europe.

• Promote automation, observability, and monitoring to enhance reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

• Facilitate knowledge transfer and ownership transition as part of the planned handover to the consuming team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience with Python and SQL.

• Practical experience with AWS, particularly Redshift, EMR, and ECS. AWS experience is essential (experience with other cloud providers is not considered equivalent for this position).

• Demonstrated experience in constructing and managing both streaming and batch data pipelines.

• Professional familiarity with Apache Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Capability to convert high-level system architectures into actionable technical tasks and accurate estimates.

• Comfortable operating in dynamic and fast-paced settings and in distributed teams.

• Strong enthusiasm for automation and monitoring.

• Significant hands-on experience with Apache Spark.

• Senior-level profile with a high degree of autonomy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams.

• Proven track record in knowledge transfer and supporting ownership transitions.

• Fluent or professionally proficient in English (both written and spoken).
