Content Writer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Generate content that addresses user needs, simplifying complex language and processes for better comprehension.

• Design and oversee assessments within the Content Platform, ensuring they are accurate, clear, and aligned with user requirements.

• Update and maintain content for existing products, capturing feature enhancements in customer communications such as in-app support, help documentation, and Resource Hub updates.

• Implement content architecture principles to organize content for easy reuse and distribution across various platforms, personas, and markets.

• Collaborate effectively within agile environments; understand agile methodologies and tools, provide guidance to team members on agile practices, and exhibit adaptability and resilience.

• Identify, manage, and cultivate relationships within project teams. Communicate clearly and consistently to clarify shared needs and commitments, always prioritizing user requirements.

• Utilize basic data analysis to inform content decisions. Summarize and communicate findings effectively.

• Conduct research and interpret topics to generate ideas and solutions, embracing experimentation. Leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency in drafting, editing, and brainstorming while ensuring accuracy and consistency with brand voice.

• Compose clear, user-friendly dialogue and microcopy that adhere to established voice and pattern guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/training in English, UX writing, technical communications, or journalism.

• Strong experience with XML and HTML for creating and formatting content within software user interfaces and help systems.

• Background in content writing within product-focused or technical settings.

• Proficient in structuring language for XML and JSON formats.

• Experience with content management systems (CCMS) and agile development processes.

• Proficiency in using AI tools for content drafting and editing tasks.

• Experience in writing instructional, technical, and UX content tailored to meet audience needs.

• Background in agile development while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management and Engineering.

• Domain knowledge is a plus (e.g., PointClickCare, EHR, or healthcare software).

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, complemented by excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Familiarity with tools such as Paligo, Pendo, Jira, Aha!, Figma, Miro, and Smartsheet is advantageous.

• Experience in writing conversational microcopy and dialogue that aligns with established patterns and voice guidelines.

• A portfolio demonstrating instructional content and UI microcopy samples is required.
