This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure the successful reception, processing, delivery, publication, and maintenance of content across various product lines and types.

• Coordinate daily operations workflows for content across Archive Journals, Books at JSTOR, Reveal Digital, Research Reports, and new initiatives.

• Enhance content quality, metadata integrity, discoverability, efficiency, scalability, and consistency.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to content and data; spearhead retrospective remediation and operational cleanup efforts.

• Collaborate with platform teams, vendor teams, and other stakeholders to achieve operational alignment, automation, and workflow enhancement.

• Act as a subject matter expert on content operations standards and workflows.

• Create and maintain operational documentation and process guidance.

• Identify root causes and implement improvements to minimize recurring issues.

• Provide direction, feedback, training, and problem-solving support to vendors and operational partners.

• Assess content deliveries, workflow exceptions, and production risks.

• Facilitate operational readiness for new products, content types, and strategic initiatives.

• Adhere to digital accessibility requirements and integrate accessibility best practices.

• Occasionally travel, less than 10% of the time, primarily to offices in Michigan and New York.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

• 2–4 years of experience in scholarly publishing, digital collections, electronic publishing, archives, or similar operational environments.

• Strong knowledge of content operations, digital publishing workflows, and content quality standards.

• Ability to strategically consider long-term process effectiveness while managing day-to-day execution requirements.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to handle multiple priorities and adapt to shifting business needs.

• Experience in creating process documentation, operational guidance, and workflow standards.

• Familiarity with XML, SGML, ONIX, metadata standards, content delivery workflows, or related publishing technologies is preferred.

• Proficiency with JIRA, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, databases, FTP, or similar operational systems is preferred.

• Ability to independently identify and implement solutions to operational challenges.

• Skill in designing and documenting new or modified processes.

• Capability to communicate complex ideas clearly across teams and at various leadership levels.

• Ability to foresee organizational needs and adjust strategy and workflow accordingly.

• Must be eligible to work and reside in the continental United States.

• Must not require any form of immigration sponsorship to work in the United States.
