• **Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:**
• The Content Manager will be the key player in executing the company’s content marketing strategy. This position encompasses two main roles: a Creator who develops engaging, high-quality content (such as blogs, whitepapers, and emails) and a Manager who oversees the editorial calendar, ensures technical accuracy, and optimizes the reach of each published piece.
• **Duties and Responsibilities:**
• **Content Strategy & Operations**
• - Formulate and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy that enhances awareness, drives engagement, and boosts conference registrations.
• - Oversee the master content calendar, serving as the central point for all content deliverables across the marketing, sales, and events teams.
• - Evaluate content performance through web analytics and social media metrics to make informed adjustments to our strategy and formats.
• - Spot trending AI and data science topics that resonate with our highly technical target audience's interests.
• **Content Creation & Copywriting**
• - Compose, edit, and proofread high-quality content in various formats, including blog posts, detailed articles, whitepapers, and case studies.
• - Create captivating short-form copy for marketing collateral, including email newsletters, website landing pages, and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
• - Perform in-depth research into AI trends, collecting accurate data to ensure all content is authoritative, engaging, and strictly aligned with our brand.
• - Collaborate with subject matter experts, speakers, and the broader ODSC AI community to gather quotes and technical insights.
• **Distribution & SEO**
• - Enhance content ROI by distributing materials across various channels, including social media, email marketing, and third-party content syndication networks.
• - Optimize all web content for SEO, employing best practices for keyword targeting, meta descriptions, and on-page structure to increase organic traffic.
• - Transform long-form content (such as conference talks or whitepapers) into concise assets for social media and email campaigns.
• **Must-have Skills/Qualification:**
• - Experience: 3+ years in content marketing, journalism, or a related field.
• - Exceptional Writing & Editing: Native or near-native English proficiency with a keen eye for grammar, tone, and technical accuracy.
• - Project Management: Strong capability to handle multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and a complex editorial calendar (experience with tools like Asana, Trello, or Jira is advantageous).
• - Tech-Savvy & Curious: While you don’t need to be a data scientist, a deep curiosity about Artificial Intelligence and the ability to research and translate complex tech concepts for a knowledgeable audience is essential.
• - Analytical Mindset: Confident in analyzing Google Analytics or social media insights to assess what content is performing well.
• **Nice-to-Have**
• - Experience with generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude) to streamline outlining and research processes.
• - Background in the B2B Tech, SaaS, or AI/Data Science sectors.
• - Prior experience managing freelance writers or external contributors.
• - Familiarity with WordPress or similar Content Management Systems.
• - Advanced SEO Expertise: Demonstrated experience in optimizing content for search engines and using tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Google Search Console.
