Content Editor – Mathematics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Content Curation: Evaluate, provide technical assessments, and offer feedback to authors, suggesting, requesting, and implementing modifications.

• Ensure conceptual, didactic, and methodological accuracy in line with relevant legal guidelines.

• Maintain theoretical and pedagogical integrity while adhering to educational directives.

• Formulate proposals for reorganization and enhancement of publications based on managerial requests and newly adopted guidelines.

• Negotiation and Validation of Iconographic Resources: Assess, negotiate, and validate iconographic resources and illustrations.

• Conduct preliminary assembly of materials and define digital content in conjunction with Art Editors.

• Confirm and authorize stages of review and layout/typesetting in accordance with the publication's scope.

• Tailor language to suit the age group of the target audience.

• Execute checks as per the editorial procedures established for each collection.

• Proofreading of Laid-out Materials: Review verbal and non-verbal text within images, including credits, sources, references, captions, and titles.

• Ensure clarity of images, comic strips, charts, infographics, and artwork, organizing figures throughout the material.

• Confirm that maps adhere to cartographic standards.

• Ensure proper implementation of icons and section text, preserving the visual quality of the material.

• Verify the organization and redundancy of questions.

• Ensure that module/chapter titles and nomenclature are consistent with the syllabus/Course Content.

• Validate table of contents, pagination, headers, sidebars, page numbering, and style application.

• Collaboration with the Editorial Team: Partner with the editorial team to create multimedia content that enhances and complements instructional materials.

• Content Quality Assurance: Ensure that all written and/or revised content meets established pedagogical and editorial quality standards while aligning with the learning objectives set for the segment.

• Continuous Updating: Remain informed about guiding documents, emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in basic education to ensure the developed content remains relevant and effective.

• Propose and implement Artificial Intelligence tools that enhance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• **Academic Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (Licentiate and/or Bachelor’s degree).

• Professional experience in basic education is essential.

• Desirable Additional Training: Courses concentrating on the application of Artificial Intelligence.

• **Skills and Competencies:**

• In-depth knowledge of the high school curriculum and the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC).

• Writing Excellence: Capability to create clear, concise, and didactic texts appropriate for students and educators.

• Ability to perform comprehensive research and continuously update knowledge on trends and best practices in basic education.

• Familiarity with Editorial Standards, with demonstrable experience.

• Proficiency in developing original and innovative content that captivates students and complements instructional materials.

• Precision and meticulousness to ensure the quality and compliance of developed materials.

• Capacity to manage various tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

• Acquaintance with digital educational tools and platforms, along with best practices for creating digital learning objects and audiovisual educational resources. Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools applied to the production of instructional materials and assessment items is also anticipated.
