This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.
• Review patient intake assessments and charts, and conduct telehealth evaluations to determine work-function impairment and the medical necessity for Short-term Disability (STD) in order to participate in the Charlie Health program.
• Accurately complete, certify, and sign Short-term disability forms with consistent information.
• Collaborate with Charlie Health clinicians and care coordinators to address clarifying requests from Employer contacts and third-party adjudicators to fill information gaps and support patients' disability leave while safeguarding PHI.
• Adhere to service-level timelines for the submission of Short-term disability paperwork, including the timely processing of extensions.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations, contributing to ongoing process enhancement.
• Provide direct patient care and education related to medication management, diagnostic evaluations, and medical assessments as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure effective patient communication and follow-up as required.

• Ability to support the Charlie Health team on a contract, part-time basis; remote work is encouraged.
• Must hold a valid MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) license, authorized to practice medicine in MO, IN, and KY, and be willing to obtain cross-licensure in additional states if necessary.
• Preference for licensure in other states, including but not limited to: MI, IL, OH, PA, CO, NC, DE, or TX.
• Required experience in assessing clinical appropriateness for short-term disability and completing associated paperwork.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as an MD or DO; experience in IOP, PHP, and/or IP settings is preferred.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with medical staff, patients, clinical support, and administrative personnel.
• Proficient in electronic health records and Google Suite/MS Office.
