
Consultant, Technical Package Modules – Lead Poisoning Prevention

• Lead poisoning has a detrimental impact on children, potentially resulting in severe and irreversible health consequences.
• RTSL is collaborating with the WHO to create a technical package aimed at preventing lead poisoning, with plans for its launch around 2027.
• Assist in the creation of the four modules that comprise the technical package.
• Primary responsibilities include overseeing module development, updating systematic reviews, gathering evidence, mapping stakeholders, and drafting outlines and texts.
• Regularly engage with experts and RTSL to obtain feedback on literature reviews, outlines, and modules.
• Deliverables must be submitted to the Senior Technical Advisor, who will oversee the progress on these deliverables.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following domains:
• Blood lead data, surveillance, and epidemiologic/clinical responses to chemical events.
• Investigation and remediation of environmental sources.
• Industrial and occupational lead usage, hazards, and safety.
• Lead contamination in consumer products and supply chains.
• Over 7 years of pertinent global health or development experience.
• Proven experience in technical writing.
• Background in environmental health/lead exposure relevant to the aforementioned areas.
• Experience in conducting policy and other systematic reviews.
• Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, public policy, or international development.
• Capability to convey technical knowledge and expertise effectively in both policy and operational contexts.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Exceptional project management abilities.
• Strong analytical and research competencies.
• High level of initiative, adaptability, problem-solving skills, and creativity.
• Effective time-management skills with the capacity to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, including the ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to attend periodic in-person meetings.
• Length of Engagement: Initially three months, with the potential for extension of up to four additional months.
• Level of Effort: Estimated at 75-100% FTE.
• Location: Remote.
