This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.
• Perform legal, policy, and institutional research focused on mining revenue distribution methods in Peru.
• Assist in mapping fiscal tools that can facilitate development outcomes in mining regions and compile best practices.
• Engage in comparative analysis of mining revenue distribution and benefit-sharing frameworks utilized in various jurisdictions.
• Conduct a comprehensive global study of financial benefit-sharing models, encompassing community development agreements, local development funds, infrastructure support systems, and employment initiatives.
• Create research summaries, comparative tables, annotated bibliographies, and draft analytical sections.
• An advanced university degree in mining law, public policy, economics, taxation, development studies, natural resource governance, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in conducting legal, policy, and comparative research, ideally within the extractive sector.
• Strong knowledge of mining governance, fiscal frameworks, community development strategies, benefit-sharing mechanisms, or gender-responsive governance is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with mining revenue distribution systems, community development agreements, or sustainable development topics in resource-abundant areas would be advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical, drafting, and written communication abilities in both English and Spanish. Proficiency in French would be considered a plus.
