Construction Permitting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead permitting initiatives for a range of utility-scale solar and storage projects, overseeing the process from initial planning to construction commencement and project completion.

• Create permitting timelines, pinpoint critical path approvals, and proactively address risks that may influence mobilization or construction deadlines.

• Supervise the preparation, submission, tracking, and upkeep of permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation across local, county, state, and federal levels.

• Collaborate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), utility providers, environmental agencies, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to obtain timely approvals.

• Direct permitting activities associated with solar EPC delivery, including interconnection applications, road-use permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) documentation, environmental permits, and county or site development approvals.

• Mentor and develop permitting team members and external partners, while enhancing processes, templates, and reporting tools for scalability and uniformity.

• Relay permitting status, schedule implications, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and project teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Planning, Environmental Science, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be taken into account.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in permitting, construction, project development, or similar infrastructure positions, including roles with leadership responsibilities.

• Background in supporting large-scale energy or infrastructure projects, with a strong preference for experience in utility-scale solar, energy storage, transmission, or substations.

• In-depth understanding of permitting processes, land-use and zoning regulations, environmental compliance, and utility coordination.

• Capability to manage multiple projects, juggle competing deadlines, and navigate complex approval challenges in a dynamic EPC environment.

• Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Preferred experience collaborating with AHJs, utilities, and environmental or regulatory agencies on substantial capital projects.
