This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage with various companies to gather vendor information, which includes, but is not limited to, employment verification, flood certificates, title commitments, and payoff details; ensure vendor orders are completed and returned, and that invoices are received and properly documented.
• Conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of the borrower’s credit, income, and assets as mandated by the loan program prior to submitting the file to underwriting.
• Acquire a complete loan package before submitting it to underwriting; confirm that all required documentation in the file is accurate and complete, and identify any potential issues that may arise prior to submission (pre-underwrite).
• Create a loan approval summary for any missing documentation before sending it to underwriting for the Loan Officer/Branch Manager’s review; provide a fully documented file to the underwriter that is ready for approval or denial.
• Communicate directly with customers in writing and by phone to gather any missing documentation required for the loan as needed.
• Review loans for compliance with RESPA, TIL, HMDA, Reg. B, and other mortgage-related regulations.
• Prepare the necessary disclosures and re-disclosures as mandated by regulations.
• Complete required loan submission, re-submission, and closing checklists.
• Manage the pipeline within specified turn times.
• Document all communications related to the loan application in the LOS system’s conversation log.
• Assist closing, secondary, and servicing teams in obtaining documentation needed to resolve outstanding suspense items for personal loans processed and/or loans handled by other transition team members.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Availability to work flexible hours and overtime if necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in residential mortgage processing.
• Experience with renovation and/or new construction lending.
• Familiarity with automated Loan Origination Systems.
• Experience with Encompass LOS.
• Understanding of RESPA guidelines and a general knowledge of all mortgage and consumer lending regulations (Regulation Z and Regulation B requirements) as well as loan documents.
• Knowledge of industry guidelines and procedures, alongside federal, state, and local regulations.
• Proficient in DU, LP, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
