This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Construction EHS Manager is responsible for overseeing the EHS construction program within a specified area, directly managing a team of contract EHS technicians who provide on-site coverage across active construction sites.
• You will be accountable for developing the strategy — including vendor pre-qualification, establishing EHS expectations, ensuring contractors adhere to agreed-upon requirements, and mitigating risks across multiple projects — as well as for execution: ensuring your technicians are present on-site daily, actively monitoring work, identifying hazards in real time, and enforcing the EHS program where operations occur.
• Manage a team of contract construction EHS technicians by assigning daily tasks, creating coverage schedules, and prioritizing site activities to ensure on-site presence across all active work areas.
• Ensure technicians are actively present on-site each day — rather than being confined to desks — confirming coverage aligns with the day's construction activities, and adjusting deployments as site operations fluctuate.
• Mentor, develop, and hold technicians accountable for the quality and consistency of their field observations, hazard identification, and real-time corrective actions.
• Conduct and supervise safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate dangers on job sites.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to EPA, OSHA, state environmental regulations, and local ordinances throughout all construction activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in program or project management.
• More than 5 years of experience in the construction, industrial, or process industries.
• Experience in directly supervising or leading field EHS staff or safety technicians.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant EHS certifications (CIH, CHST, OHST, or similar).
• At least 10 years of experience in EHS construction and subcontractor management.
• Experience in operational data centers with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Proven experience managing a distributed team of field safety technicians across various sites.
• Knowledge of safety program design and implementation.
• Understanding of construction program management, including fundamental construction agreements.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractor safety and environmental compliance on multi-million dollar capital projects.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
• A collaborative, growth-oriented culture that emphasizes innovation and continuous improvement.
• Meaningful work focused on protecting workers, communities, and the environment.
• Competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
• Exposure to cutting-edge projects and industry-leading practices.
