This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee a portfolio of Construction Defect Claims across various states.
• Manage new loss assignments, reassignments, and accurate reserve setting.
• Conduct coverage analysis, assess defense responsibilities, handle indemnity tasks, and determine choice of law.
• Identify issues requiring resolution, select appropriate methods, and focus on risk transfer and solutions that yield optimal outcomes.
• Proficient in drafting intricate coverage letters, including reservations of rights, disclaimers, and responses to "push back" correspondence.
• Collaborate with counsel to formulate legal strategies and supervise Construction Defect litigation in accordance with litigation guidelines.
• Recognize suitable cases for trial and prepare pre-trial reports along with trial activities.
• Over 5 years of experience in litigated Construction Defect claim handling, showcasing roles of escalating responsibility across multiple jurisdictions.
• A technical background is preferred, focusing on identifying coverage issues and interpreting policies.
• Experience managing Home Builder policies, including WRAP/OCIP, Project Specific, and SIR policies.
• Extensive understanding of liability policy language and coverage interpretation.
• Background in a regulated environment with the capability to ensure adherence to company procedures.
• A college degree is required.
• Must possess experience in handling commercial claims (field or desk, with a preference for desk roles).
