Conservation Leadership Initiative Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Provide assistance to the Chapters Conservation Manager by contributing to the learning and guidance of the current cohort of 25 students.

• Organize and conduct engaging college outreach events throughout Florida during the spring semester.

• Aid in administrative, communication, and program coordination tasks for the Conservation Leadership Initiative.

• Establish and nurture relationships with contacts at colleges and universities in Florida for CLI recruitment, with an emphasis on HBCUs and MSIs.

• Help in planning and executing regional outreach events.

• Coordinate and support CLI participants and their mentors.

• Facilitate virtual check-ins and webinars focused on student conservation projects, professional growth, and cohort engagement.

• Communicate with venue personnel.

• Organize and lead field activities.

• Arrange for guest speakers.

• Promote and maintain a culture of safety.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned or necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of coursework in an environmental field or a related discipline.

• Passion for environmental issues, including birds and wildlife.

• Proven experience in event planning.

• Background in working with or leading college groups or clubs.

• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Capability to manage multiple timelines and priorities effectively.

• Comfort in collaborating with students, volunteers, chapter leaders, and Audubon staff within a remote setting.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Dedication to Audon’s core values of care, collaboration, change, integrity, impact, and innovation.

• Availability during standard work hours (9am-5pm ET, Monday-Friday) at least partially.

• Submission of a cover letter expressing interest in the position.

• Willingness and ability to travel to three weekend events in various Florida cities during the spring academic semester.
