This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act as the main technical contact on-site for the Low Voltage Contractor (LVC) and the internal engineering teams.
β’ Oversee the deployment timeline of the LVC, ensuring compliance with project milestones while updating project management on progress and any delays.
β’ Coordinate access, delivery of materials, and staging areas in collaboration with data center facility operations.
β’ Serve as a remote hands specialist for engineering teams during deployment and validation tasks.
β’ Conduct thorough, multi-phase quality assurance inspections on all work performed by the LVC, which includes rack placement, server/device installation, cable routing, and labeling.
β’ Ensure that all infrastructure components, such as racks, servers, network devices, and storage units, are installed and grounded according to the specified Bill of Materials (BoM) and design documentation.
β’ Execute or directly supervise optical loss testing (OLTS), OTDR analysis, and insertion/return loss assessments on all installed fiber links (Single-Mode and Multi-Mode).
β’ Confirm the integrity and pin-out of copper (Cat6a/Cat8) cables using certified testing equipment.
β’ Ensure compliance with code for all patch panels, trunks, patch cords, and cable management systems.
β’ Manage relationships with vendors/partners, including contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure installation quality.
β’ Function as the organization's Subject Matter Expert (SME) for fiber optic infrastructure and best practices in structured cabling (e.g., BICSI standards).
β’ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ At least 5 years of hands-on experience in deploying data center or mission-critical infrastructure.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 40% for extended on-site deployments during data center turn-ups.
β’ Extensive technical knowledge (SME level) in fiber optic systems, covering design standards, installation methods, and advanced testing techniques (OTDR, VFL, Power Meter).
β’ Demonstrated experience in physical infrastructure installation, including the racking, stacking, and cabling of servers, network, and storage hardware.
β’ Proficient in reading, interpreting, and translating technical drawings and schematics (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio).
β’ Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to drive projects to completion and effectively handle ambiguity.
