Concept Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create exceptional concept art for environments, props, characters, and in-game mockups.

• Assist in defining and maintaining the visual style of Brookhaven across all aspects, such as UI, environments, props, and character design.

• Interpret the creative vision of the project, contribute to art direction, and introduce new ideas and explorations.

• Develop and uphold a dynamic Visual Style Guide, ensuring alignment and clear communication with stakeholders regarding design choices.

• Generate concepts that effectively translate into game-ready assets while supporting scalable and franchise-friendly content.

• Cultivate a strong understanding of the game’s universe and technical limitations to inform design decisions.

• Collaborate closely with 3D artists to provide paint-overs and iterate on assets, enhancing final visual quality and initial direction.

• An impressive portfolio that showcases concept art across environments, props, characters, and location development.

• Professional experience in a creative industry, or equivalent freelance or personal project work.

• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or comparable design tools.

• A profound appreciation for Brookhaven’s art style, with the capability to consistently execute within its visual framework.

• Experience in balancing artistic vision with technical limitations, ensuring concepts translate effectively into gameplay-ready assets.

• Expertise in creating iterative concept packages (e.g., mood boards, callout sheets, paint-overs) that facilitate downstream asset creation.

• Strong creative instincts, with the ability to enhance assets while adhering to established direction.

• A versatile skill set in concepting, able to swiftly produce a variety of asset types (e.g., characters, iconography, POIs, props).
