This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assume complete ownership of the UI for features and live operations content, including wireframes, mock-ups, user flows, prototypes, original icons and illustrations, final visuals, and in-engine implementation.

• Create refined, brand-aligned UI art from the ground up, such as icons, illustrations, banners, promotional images, event key art, and other bespoke visual assets that enhance the premium feel of our screens.

• Collaborate closely with our sister game, Sunshine Island, to understand their UI designs and intentions, adapt them for BFH’s audience and visual style, and share insights back with the SI team.

• Integrate UI components into Unity independently by constructing and wiring prefabs, anchors, layouts, and responsive scaling, working closely with programmers and technical artists.

• Animate UI elements in Unity (using Timeline, DOTween, Animator) to develop smooth transitions, feedback, and visual appeal.

• Maintain and enhance our UI design system, including the icon and illustration library, to ensure visual coherence and interaction consistency across the product.

• Implement UI/UX best practices for mobile devices and advocate for the player experience within the team.

• Work collaboratively with game design, art, balancing, QA, and engineering teams, challenging UX to improve where possible and assisting others when UI presents a bottleneck.

• Stay updated on the latest tools (including AI-assisted workflows) and bring enhancements to our processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in UI/UX design and UI production within the mobile gaming sector.

• Strong artistic abilities, demonstrated through a portfolio of UI artwork that includes original icons, illustrations, banners, and event/offer visuals created from concept to final asset.

• Proven hands-on experience with UI integration in Unity (UGUI, prefabs, anchors, layouts, responsive scaling for mobile).

• Proficient in UI animation within Unity using Timeline, DOTween, Animator, or similar tools.

• Skilled in Figma for design, handoff, and design-system development.

• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator), capable of producing high-quality icons, illustrations, banners, promotional images, and marketing-related UI art that meets the standards of a polished mobile game.

• Comfortable using Git (or equivalent version control system) for branching, merging UI assets, and resolving conflicts in a seamless manner.

• Excellent communication skills in English with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across disciplines and time zones, explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and proactively address issues early on.

• Strong understanding of UI/UX information architecture, interaction design, and industry standards for mobile games.

• A self-driven individual with a passion for mobile and casual games, possessing strong analytical skills and a customer-focused approach.

• Additional skills that may impress us include curiosity about and hands-on experience with AI image generation and AI-assisted design tools, along with ideas for integrating them into a production pipeline.

• Experience with UI shaders and Shader Graph for stylized UI effects.

• Familiarity with Jira and Trello for tracking UI/art tasks.

• A completed degree in Media Psychology, Graphic Design, Game Design, or a related field.

• A portfolio showcasing UI animation and shader experiments in Unity.
