Compliance/Security Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Ensure that the organization operates fully in compliance with federal and state laws, including HIPAA, CMS, and OIG regulations.

• Establish and uphold the foundational "Seven Elements" of an effective compliance program as defined by the OIG.

• Draft, implement, and revise compliance policies and procedures as necessary.

• Guarantee the completion of training on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA), HIPAA, and General Compliance within 90 days of hire and on an annual basis thereafter.

• Oversee the organization’s designation as a First Tier, Downstream, and Related Entity (FDR).

• Manage the monthly screening process against OIG and GSA databases for all employees and contractors.

• Audit the timeliness of Organization Determinations, Appeals, and Grievances.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s or advanced degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.

• Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or a similar credential is highly desirable.

• Over 10 years of experience in healthcare compliance is required.

• Extensive knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH, the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and CMS ODAG requirements.

• Strong capability to manage a remote, nationwide workforce effectively.
