Compliance Specialist II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Ensure that international trade operations adhere to intricate regulatory requirements.

• Promote trade compliance excellence through the execution of policies, monitoring transactions, and enhancing processes.

• Oversee daily import/export operations, encompassing classification, screening, licensing, and documentation.

• Offer guidance to internal teams regarding trade compliance issues.

• Analyze complex regulations, address compliance challenges, and identify areas for process enhancement.

• Keep precise records, perform audits, and produce compliance metrics.

• Cultivate strong relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders.

• Enable global trade while ensuring adherence to regulations and managing associated risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree with no prior experience, or a Bachelor's degree coupled with 2 years of experience in trade compliance, customs operations, or a related field.

• In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and trade agreements.

• Strong familiarity with product classification (HTS, ECCN) and licensing prerequisites.

• Proficient in trade compliance systems and the Microsoft Office suite.

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and global trade management software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

• Detail-oriented with robust organizational and time management capabilities.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Experience in conducting compliance audits and implementing corrective measures.

• Familiarity with regulatory agencies and the ability to manage government relations.

• Willingness to travel up to 10-15% as required.
