This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.
• Develop, sustain, and improve compliance programs, policies, procedures, and controls that support SLED business operations.
• Oversee adherence to relevant federal, state, local, and educational contracting standards, which include procurement regulations, recordkeeping, billing accuracy, readiness for audits, and contractual commitments.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure compliant involvement in SLED opportunities, proposals, bids, renewals, and contract management.
• Monitor and enforce internal guidelines regarding ethical business practices with government clients, encompassing:
• procurement integrity and LCP compliance,
• conflicts of interest,
• gifts, gratuities, and anti-kickback regulations,
• consultant utilization,
• and risks related to false claims and false statements.
• Establish and oversee compliance review processes for SLED transactions, bids, documentation, and operational implementation.
• Facilitate training and certification needs for employees engaged in government-related tasks; ensure that those covered comprehend and adhere to mandated compliance standards.
• Perform compliance risk assessments, identifying control weaknesses, remediation strategies, and opportunities for process enhancement.
• Investigate potential compliance issues, assist in internal evaluations, and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain necessary documentation and reporting for audits, internal evaluations, and updates for leadership.
• Work in conjunction with related teams to ensure compliant execution of public sector opportunities and submissions. Support for internal government programs includes tracking bid submissions and compliance-focused coordination.
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation, regulations, and public sector procurement practices, translating them into actionable business guidance.
• Act as a subject matter expert on SLED compliance and provide guidance to leadership on risk trends, issue escalation, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams for strategic planning in advance of USAC funding seasons, identifying targets, qualifying leads, and reviewing RFPs for pursuit.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Compliance, Legal Studies, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Over 5 years of experience in compliance, contract administration, government programs, legal operations, risk management, or related areas.
• Experience in supporting public sector, government contracting, or SLED business operations.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements associated with state, local, or education clients, as well as USAC-related funding.
• Solid understanding of policy development, training, documentation, internal controls, and audit support.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functions with Legal, Sales, Finance, Operations, and program teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey complex compliance requirements clearly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
