Compliance Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout Sleek.

• Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards.

• Evaluate individual KYC exceptions and finalize identification/verification within established SLAs.

• Accurately conduct corporate shareholder KYC reviews within agreed SLAs.

• Confirm that KYC decisions and accompanying documentation are complete and properly recorded.

• Independently authorize low- and medium-risk client cases within SLA.

• Analyze higher-risk cases and provide recommendations to the Head of Compliance.

• Review name screening alerts to distinguish false positives from potential true hits needing escalation.

• Examine transaction monitoring alerts to decide if they can be closed or if further investigation is required.

• Document and escalate decisions regarding screening and monitoring as necessary.

• Evaluate Compliance policies, tools, and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Collaborate with the Head of Compliance to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of compliance operations.

• Identify opportunities to integrate technology and AI into compliance workflows and decision-making.

• Engage in one-way video, technical, behavioral, and reference interview stages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Experience in a role that involves analysis, judgment, and/or risk assessment; previous Compliance experience is not mandatory.

• Familiarity with AI tools in the workplace, preferably with hands-on experience in agentic AI.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficiency in evaluating information, identifying risks, and making informed decisions.

• Ability to work with data and technology and quickly adapt to new systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
