This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and partnership agreements across R2's markets.
• Assist in structuring and documenting commercial relationships with partners and platforms.
• Maintain and manage the contract repository, ensuring accuracy and version control.
• Aid with corporate governance documentation for R2's legal entities in the region.
• Support entity maintenance tasks including board minutes, resolutions, and regulatory filings.
• Help ensure that R2's corporate structure remains compliant and well-documented across various jurisdictions.
• Provide legal reviews for product initiatives, including UX/UI flows, terms and conditions, and user-facing documentation.
• Draft and revise internal policies in alignment with regulatory requirements and business needs.
• Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure legal alignment on new features and market launches.
• Assist with KYC processes, transaction monitoring frameworks, and ABAC (Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption) policies.
• Support risk assessments and help prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Contribute to the development of scalable compliance processes as R2 expands into new markets.
• Serve as a vital legal resource for local teams in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Brazil.
• Identify and highlight jurisdiction-specific legal considerations that impact R2's operations or product roadmap.
• Help standardize legal processes and templates for consistent application across markets.
• 2-3 years of legal experience, with in-house experience strongly preferred; law firm experience with relevant fintech or financial services exposure is also considered.
• Law degree from an accredited institution; admitted to practice in Colombia.
• Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required, as you will interact with English and Spanish-speaking stakeholders daily.
• Knowledge of Portuguese is not required, but it may be advantageous.
• Comfortable navigating multiple jurisdictions without in-depth local expertise in each; you know how to ask the right questions and escalate when necessary.
• Strong drafting abilities—clear, concise, and precise in both languages.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized; capable of managing multiple ongoing matters simultaneously without oversight.
• High-ownership mindset—proactive in taking initiative, identifying problems early, and ensuring follow-through.
• Genuine interest in fintech, financial inclusion, and the Latin American startup ecosystem.
