Complex Litigation Attorney – Special Investigations Unit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Work in conjunction with the Claims/Special Investigation Unit (SIU) to address fraudulent claims in No-Fault and other scenarios.

• Investigate, prepare, file, and litigate cases related to fraud, including those involving RICO and other affirmative actions.

• Formulate litigation strategies and negotiate intricate matters.

• Evaluate case files and devise resolutions.

• Compose discovery requests, motions, memorandums, and legal briefs.

• Prepare for and conduct depositions and examinations under oath (EUOs).

• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, trials, and collaborate with expert witnesses.

• Represent the organization in court appearances (conferences, hearings) in both State and Federal courts.

• Draft pre-trial and post-trial motions.

• Negotiate settlements and compile associated documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and an active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.

• Federal Court Admission is required upon selection for this position.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience.

• Experience in Federal Court.

• Capability to manage complex litigation.

• Excellent research and writing abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related computer applications.

• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

• Exhibits ethics and integrity.

• Experience in the insurance industry.

• Familiarity with legal holds and discovery processes.
