• We are seeking a proactive communications expert to join the MenEngage Alliance team.
• Collaborating closely with the Communications Manager, you will manage daily communications and aid in executing our communications and knowledge management strategy, which includes event promotion, coordinating the Communications Working Group, and enhancing our online advocacy, activism, and knowledge-building efforts.
• As a Communications Officer, you will leverage the collective knowledge of the largest civil-society community focused on engaging men and boys for gender equality to create impactful communications content that advances gender, climate, and social justice initiatives for everyone.
• If you are passionate about applying intersectional feminist perspectives to the issues surrounding men and boys, and possess the ability to transform that understanding into high-impact, relatable communications that influence public dialogue, this position may be the perfect fit for you.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications within non-profit organizations;
• A strong dedication to women’s rights and gender justice for all, alongside adherence to the MenEngage Alliance Accountability Framework as part of a broader agenda for human rights, climate, and social justice;
• Proven experience in developing and implementing feminist-informed, decolonial organizational models and cultures that prioritize care, mutuality, collaboration, and shared power;
• Highly organized, self-sufficient, and proactive;
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively to drive impact toward our mission and vision within a dynamic remote team setting;
• Experience working in diverse, multi-sectoral, and multi-cultural environments;
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate well with a wide range of individuals across various contexts using remote collaboration tools.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities: A portfolio showcasing high-quality written English-language content, along with a demonstrated enthusiasm and expertise in writing about gender justice issues through an intersectional feminist lens, using accessible language to distill complex topics into clear, relatable, and compelling content for diverse audiences and platforms.
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or French is preferred;
• A keen and imaginative eye for graphic design and visual content: A proven track record of creating visual materials for digital and print formats is highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of key graphic design principles and methods;
• A strong understanding of intersectional feminism and the field of ‘men and masculinities’: This knowledge may stem from personal experience, academic study, or other avenues, and is essential for applying key concepts of intersectional feminism to ‘men and masculinities’;
• Digital storytelling skills, utilizing our extensive knowledge archive and highlighting innovative and powerful stories and expertise from our network and beyond;
• A passion for the impact of social media in the ‘men and masculinities’ domain: The ideal candidate will be someone who stays abreast of the latest social media trends related to men and masculinities and seizes opportunities to influence and shift public discourse;
• Proficiency with marketing tools such as e-marketing, CMS and CRM systems, project management tools, and social media planning and analytics tools;
• Experience in video storytelling and editing: A portfolio showcasing videos produced, filmed, or edited is desirable;
• Experience collaborating with external creative professionals and overseeing the production of digital, audiovisual, and graphic design materials while ensuring strict adherence to our brand guidelines.
