Communications Manager – Policy & Public Affairs

📋 Description

• Oversee the communications strategy for critical legislative and regulatory initiatives, ensuring Coinbase maintains a clear and consistent voice during every policy event.

• Collaborate with legal and policy teams to convert intricate litigation, regulatory documents, and policy stances into compelling public narratives.

• Spearhead earned media initiatives by leveraging strong relationships with national political, financial, and technology journalists to foster proactive coverage and manage rapid-response efforts.

• Lead digital communications across X and other social media platforms to engage directly with policymakers, thought leaders, and the cryptocurrency community.

• Develop advocacy communications that amplify consumer voices and illustrate the tangible effects of pro-innovation policies to legislators and regulators.

• Establish long-term brand credibility by preserving Coinbase's status as the most trusted leader in the cryptocurrency sector throughout various election and regulatory cycles.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in high-stakes political communications, including direct involvement in Congressional offices, political campaigns, or agency rapid-response settings.

• Demonstrated success as an on-the-record spokesperson handling high-pressure national media inquiries with consistent and disciplined messaging.

• Proven ability to influence news cycles and shift public opinion through X and other digital platforms, supported by a portfolio of measurable outcomes.

• In-depth understanding of the US regulatory and legislative landscape, with experience in making policy complexities accessible to the public.

• History of building and nurturing relationships with Tier 1 political and financial journalists that consistently lead to earned media coverage.

• Effectively utilizes generative AI with responsible practices, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and enhance workflow efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
