This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Oversee the execution of a communications strategy that aligns with the mission and strategies of the Collective.
• Identify significant opportunities for Collective members to shape public discourse and policy discussions.
• Develop strategies to promote member scholarship and insights.
• Convert research findings into accessible and impactful content (e.g., research briefs, policy summaries, webinars, and materials for the public) aimed at policymakers, media, and the general public.
• Facilitate the distribution of publications, research briefs, op-eds, webinars, and other public-facing resources.
• Establish a systematic process for reviewing external messages, ensuring they are in line with Collective values and audience needs.
• Coordinate with strategic communications firms, ensuring effective workflows and accountability.
• Keep an updated organizational contact list to improve outreach and engagement.
• Oversee the Collective’s digital presence, including the website, social media platforms, and email communications.
• Assist in the creation of essential communications materials, such as newsletters, social media content, website updates, and organizational announcements.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in communications, narrative strategy, or related areas.
• Outstanding writing abilities, capable of translating complex research into accessible narratives.
• Experience in managing communications across diverse platforms (media, digital, publications).
• Strong comfort level with engaging with research and data, along with the ability to collaborate with researchers to distill complex ideas into clear and compelling narratives.
• Capacity to function strategically and tactically in a growing organization.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
