This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the administration and production of the quarterly magazine, monthly e-newsletters, social media content, website posts, and reports.
• Collaborate with team members in communications and other program areas.
• Perform research and conduct interviews to produce articles, summaries, spotlights, and reports.
• Develop and schedule social media content across various platforms.
• Create visual assets using Canva or Adobe Suite.
• Edit short-form video content utilizing CapCut or similar software.
• Provide assistance with editing and translating articles based on language proficiency.
• Organize and manage digital files and mailing lists using Mailchimp.
• Aid in content management for the website and digital magazine.
• Write and proofread content for the monthly e-newsletter to ensure a consistent tone and format.
• Assist with additional communications tasks as required.
• Report to the Senior Communications Manager and work in coordination with communications and program teams.
• Some prior experience in communications is preferred.
• Excellent writing skills are essential.
• Comfortable with coordinating and conducting interviews with diverse stakeholders.
• A genuine interest in non-profit communications is necessary.
• Some background or willingness to learn about Indigenous Peoples' rights and cultural practices is advantageous.
• Must be independent, self-motivated, reliable, self-driven, and resourceful.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Spanish and any Indigenous language is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of additional languages, such as Portuguese or French, is considered a plus.
• A reliable internet connection is mandatory.
• Flexibility to work during morning/afternoon EST hours is required.

• A PDF sample of written work, with a maximum of 1,200 words, in English or Spanish must be submitted.
• Additional examples of communications work, including short videos and graphics, may be included.
• Two stipend payments of $500.00 each during the six-month internship, issued in the second and fifth months, to assist with phone, electricity, internet, office materials, and other internship-related expenses.
• Flexibility in scheduling.
• A structured onboarding process.
• Monthly mentorship sessions within the department.
• An internship certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.
