This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement commodity/category growth strategies that align with organizational goals, customer needs, supplier capabilities, and business segment priorities.
• Create and sustain category business plans, strategic roadmaps, market analyses, and growth priorities for the designated commodity area.
• Act as the internal commodity subject matter expert for Account Managers, Business Development, and cross-functional teams.
• Convert supplier capabilities and market trends into customer solutions, conceptual solutions, capability packages, and sales enablement resources.
• Assist with major pursuits, capture initiatives, proposals, supplier-enabled opportunities, demonstrations, customer meetings, technical discussions, and pursuit planning.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to identify customer opportunities, enhance customer positioning, increase win likelihood, and expedite pipeline development.
• Work with Vendor Management on supplier capabilities, identify gaps, additions or removals, development priorities, and capability investments.
• Offer category expertise during supplier evaluations, business reviews, strategic discussions, and capability assessments.
• Perform commodity mapping to discover whitespace, underrepresented capabilities, emerging OEMs, market gaps, technological trends, and competitive movements.
• Analyze category performance, pricing trends, margin dynamics, pipeline activities, supplier incentives, and customer demand indicators.
• Create enablement materials for Account Managers, including category playbooks, opportunity briefs, positioning notes, competitive comparison tools, and training content.
• Collaborate with Marketing on supplier/category campaigns, trade show strategies, customer-facing materials, and content development.
• Partner with Operations to comprehend contract requirements, customer pain points, execution challenges, and delivery considerations.
• Support growth across BOS and TLS programs, contract vehicles, customer segments, commodities, and strategic initiatives.
• Travel as necessary for customer meetings, supplier meetings, industry events, trade shows, and internal planning sessions.
• At least 5 years of experience in category management, supplier relations, defense, technical product categories, procurement, or supply chain relevant to the assigned commodity.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent work or military experience.
• Ability to convert supplier capabilities, market trends, product knowledge, and customer needs into customer solutions, growth strategies, and sales enablement resources.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting, federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and Defense and Federal market mission requirements is preferred.
• Capacity to interpret category performance, margin trends, pipeline activities, customer concentration, supplier capability gaps, and demand signals.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Capability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Vendor Management, Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, and leadership stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, organized, and responsible, with the ability to manage multiple category priorities, pursuits, and stakeholder needs.
• Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Willingness and ability to travel by vehicle or air for customer or supplier engagements.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
