Commodities Distribution Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee and track commodity inbound shipments throughout the U.S.

• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries in accordance with service-level agreements.

• Evaluate shipment data to enhance routing, carrier usage, and load planning.

• Collaborate with carriers to arrange pickups and monitor shipments.

• Address and resolve transportation service-related issues.

• Monitor and report on transportation key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Promote corrective actions and ongoing improvements.

• Serve as a liaison between transportation, material management, and manufacturing plants.

• Proactively manage shipment issues and uphold customer satisfaction.

• Contribute to operational efficiency and strategic supply chain objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related discipline.

• At least 1 year of experience in transportation or logistics.

• Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP platforms, and shipment tracking tools is preferred.

• Knowledge of truck, intermodal, rail, and bulk shipping freight methods.

• Understanding of freight modes, transportation regulations, supply chain processes, and TMS or ERP systems.

• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

• Proficiency in Excel.

• Effective communication skills with carriers and both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to coordinate complex shipments within tight deadlines.

• Capability to build robust relationships.

• Skill in identifying process enhancements.

• Adaptability to seasonal demand fluctuations or unforeseen challenges.

• Professional certifications are considered an advantage.
