This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and implement on-site commissioning activities for mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, lighting, and control systems.

• Assist the Commissioning Agent/Lead while independently managing field commissioning for designated systems and scopes.

• Create and sustain commissioning documentation, including the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), and Commissioning Plans, in collaboration with the Commissioning Agent and project teams.

• Develop and carry out pre-functional and functional performance testing, focusing on field execution and verification.

• Conduct hands-on testing of intricate systems and integrated system operations.

• Commission systems including VAV, VRF, hydronic systems, domestic water, fire protection interfaces, emergency power, lighting controls, and BAS-integrated systems.

• Detect deficiencies in the field, document issues clearly, and collaborate directly with contractors, TAB firms, and controls vendors to facilitate resolution.

• Lead or take part in field meetings, startups, and testing coordination.

• Confirm corrective actions on-site and ensure systems operate as expected.

• Act as the main commissioning representative in the field, communicating results to owners, contractors, and project teams.

• Keep precise field documentation, issue logs, test records, and close-out documentation.

• Ensure quality control of your own work and adherence to established QA/QC procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory.

• Equivalent training or field experience will be taken into account.

• 3–5 years of practical building commissioning experience, with a strong emphasis on fieldwork.

• Experience in commissioning various building systems, rather than just a single discipline.

• Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE Standard 202 and ASHRAE Guideline 0 as applied in practice.

• Understanding of ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and USGBC requirements, particularly regarding their impact on testing and verification.

• Solid understanding of control systems, sequences of operation, and system interactions from an operational perspective.

• Ability to operate independently on active construction sites and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to articulate technical findings clearly.

• Willingness and capacity to travel approximately 75% of the time.

• Certifications are highly preferred and considered indicators of technical expertise and commitment to the commissioning profession: • CxA – Certified Commissioning Authority (AABC Commissioning Group) • CCP – Certified Commissioning Professional (BCxA) • BCxP – Building Commissioning Professional (ASHRAE) • CBCP – Certified Building Commissioning Professional (ASME)
